4th of July DIY Pinwheels
Wave your flags—and your pinwheels—this 4th of July! DIY pinwheels make perfect favors or budget-friendly decor for patriotic parties.
Supplies:
- Patriotic patterned cardstock paper
- Straws
- Pipe Cleaners
- Hole punch
- Glue
- Pencil
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Fold the cardstock from corner to corner diagonally, one at a time, creating an X indentation on the cardstock.
- Using the folds as a guide, cut directly on each line about ¾ of the way in starting from the outer corner. Make sure to not cut all the way to the middle!
- Hole punch a hole at all four corners to the left side of each cut, and one hole in the center.
- Fold each of the four sides that have a hole punch down to the middle and glue them in place in the center. Make sure to line up the holes with each other and not block them with the glue!
- Roll up the end of a pipe cleaner to form a small ball, and thread it through the hole in the pinwheel. Push the end of the pipe cleaner through a straw and spin into the 4th!
